A couple of months back Viktoriya, my girlfriend, came to me with this book she had just finish reading. she felt in love with this book. I needed to understand why she loved it so much, so i started to read this book, and i soon realized why she love it so much. it was because this book question everything and make you question everything also, as a reader you want to read a book that will make you think and consume you with such force that you just have to read more and Plato did just that for me. In my new English class i was yet again face with the same book "Plato" but this time it was just apart of it, a part where he began to criticize the artist around him.
"and the same may be said for lust and anger and all the other affections, of desire and pain and pleasure, which are held to be inseparable from every action--in all of them poetry feed and waters the passions instead of drying them up; she let them rule, although they ought to be controlled, if mankind are ever to increase in happiness and virtue".
in every thing that he wrote that part court my attention the most. i do not believe that passion is some thing that should be controlled, passion is what drive an individual to do their best, if one does not have passion in what he/she does how can he/she excel in what the do. i believe that everything that we do included passion, it is the one thing that make us who we are.
if passion was something to be controlled, especially within artist, i do not believe that the magnificent arts that we have today would ever come to be, things like the 7 wonders of the world were created through passion. so if poetry is some thing that waters and feed passions then that is one of the most important thing one should have by their side.

Brilliant analysis and very personal too, and I like that, I enjoyed reading your thoughts as you expressed them in this post,--and the quote helped, too; it was nice to have it there and then your comments on it afterward, so bravo! it's good, very good.
